Coal & Mr. Goat came into our rescue program on August 27, 2019. Coal and Mr. Goat came into our rescue program from The Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division as a cruelty case. Coal is a Beautiful, Black, Miniature, Gelding. Coal is estimated to be 9 years of age. We were contacted by OKC-AWD to take Coal initially. Coal was in good body condition, but his back feet were very long and curled. We brought Coal home and 2 days later, the shelter contacted us to see if we would take Coal's friend the goat. Apparently, the goat went into depression after loosing his friend and would not eat. I refused to be the reason for a depressed Goat, so we decided to go get Coal's friend. Remember, we are a horse rescue. What on earth are we going to do with a goat? lol Coal and Mr. Goat were quickly reunited and have been inseparable since. So, we ask that Coal and Mr. Goat be adopted together. Coal's back feet are looking great. He will need scheduled/routine maintenance on his feet to keep them in good condition. Coal is a sweet boy and loves attention. He is halter broke and broke to lead. Mr. Goat is a bit aloof and tends to just watch as you play with Coal. He hasn't decided that he wants attention just yet. Mr. Goat has been castrated which has helped tremendously on his smell. He will walk on a leash. Coal stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. He is going to make someone a super nice little pony. Coal has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you would like to adopt Coal and Mr. Goat, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Coal and Mr. Goat.
